Louisiana Resident Named Top ''Brawler'' in GameStop's Largest National In-Store Tournament

More Than 75,000 Players Competed Throughout the Competition

GRAPEVINE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 2008--Lee Martin of Houma, Louisiana, was named the Grand Prize winner of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament sponsored by GameStop, Corp. (NYSE:GME), the world's largest video game and entertainment software retailer. As the recipient of the Grand Prize, Martin received a Vizio 37" LCD-TV, an entire Nintendo Wii Software Library, one Nintendo Wii console and selected accessories and $5,000 in cash.

Martin "duked it out" against twelve Semifinalists during the Finals event on April 12, at GameStop's San Jose Tournament Center (San Jose, CA) in his quest to be crowned its Super Smash Bros. Brawl Grand Prize Winner. Prior to the Finals event, Martin successfully battled over 60 opponents in three rounds of competition at the Store, District and Regional levels. More than 75,000 players participated in the multi-tiered national tournament.

GameStop's Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament took place from March 8 to April 12, 2008. A GameStop gift card was awarded to the Second Place Winner.

Brawl features dozens of Nintendo characters, from Mario to Link to Pikachu, as well as new characters like Solid Snake, a gritty soldier from Konami's hugely popular Metal Gear series, and Sonic The Hedgehog.
