GameStop to Open a New Distribution Center in Kentucky

January 14, 2016

GRAPEVINE, Texas (January 14, 2016) – GameStop, a family of specialty retail brands that makes the most popular technologies affordable and simple, revealed today it will open a more than 630,000 square foot distribution center (DC) in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The new DC replaces the company’s previous location in Louisville, Kentucky, and represents an increase of 370,000 square feet in distribution space.

The new facility will be used for the distribution of GameStop’s video game products to its more than 4,000 U.S. store locations. The DC will also be used as a fulfillment center for its e-commerce orders and for the repair and refurbishment of pre-owned video game hardware and software, and electronic products that customers trade-in at any GameStop store.

GameStop is leasing the facility from Granite Real Estate Investment Trust (NYSE: GRP.U/TSX: GRT.UN) and Dermody Properties, and worked with Harry K. Moore Company to locate the facility. The initial term of the lease is seven years, which is set to begin in the second quarter of 2016. GameStop plans to invest more than $10 million in equipment and facility upgrades, and hire up to 170 additional associates bringing the total number of regular, full-time associates at the DC to more than 400 associates.
