GameStop Closes U.S. Pre-Order Campaign for Nintendo's Wii

GRAPEVINE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 16, 2006--GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME) (NYSE:GME.B), the world's largest video game and entertainment software retailer, closed its U.S. in-store, pre-order campaign for Nintendo's Wii on Friday, October 13, 2006, the same day it began.

While allocations from Nintendo have not been communicated, GameStop launched the campaign through an electronic newsletter in response to consumer excitement for the highly-anticipated console.
