GameStop Announces Class B Common Stockholders' Meeting for February 7, 2007

GRAPEVINE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 29, 2006--GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME)(NYSE:GME.B), the world's largest video game and entertainment software retailer, announced today that it has scheduled its special meeting of Class B common stockholders for Wednesday, February 7, 2007. GameStop's special meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. (CST) at the company's corporate headquarters located at 625 Westport Parkway, Grapevine, Texas 76051. GameStop expects to begin mailing its proxy statement on or about January 5, 2007 to Class B common stockholders of record as of December 28, 2006.

GameStop had previously announced that its Board of Directors had approved, and recommended to the stockholders for approval, the conversion of its Class B common stock into Class A common stock on a one-for-one basis. GameStop has filed a definitive proxy statement with respect to the meeting of Class B stockholders. A complete description of the proposal is included in the proxy statement for the special meeting and Class B stockholders are encouraged to read the proxy statement before making any decision with respect to the proposal.
