GameStop Corp. was incorporated under the laws of the State of Delaware in August 2001.
GameStop is the world's largest video game and entertainment software retailer. We carry one of the largest assortments of new and used video game hardware, video game software and accessories, PC entertainment software, and related products, including action figures and strategy guides. We carry a constantly changing selection of more than 5,000 stock keeping units (SKUs) of electronic game merchandise in most stores. In addition, we operate two web sites, at www.gamestop.com and www.ebgames.com, and publish Game Informer, one of the industry's largest circulation multi-platform video game magazines, with over 3,000,000 subscribers. GameStop's buy-sell-trade model provides our customers with an opportunity to trade in their used video game products for store credits and apply those credits towards other video game merchandise.
As of January 28, 2017, GameStop has over 7,200 stores in operation, of which 5,466 are located in the United States, 322 in Canada, 464 in Australia/New Zealand and 1,283 are in Europe. Our stores operate primarily under the names of GameStop and EB Games. Our stores sell new and used video game software, hardware and accessories for video game systems from Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. In addition, the company sells PC entertainment software, related accessories and other merchandise.
GameStop Corp. does not have a franchise program. All of the stores are corporately owned and operated.
